Overall, I enjoyed my ten-night stay at St Margaret's Hotel. I have visited previously and have generally had positive experiences. Despite some disappointments with the facilities on this occasion, the stay was reasonably enjoyable, and there were still positive aspects to my holiday.
Unfortunately, several aspects of this visit fell below the standards I have experienced on previous stays.
Firstly, the Venue WiFi was particularly disappointing. YouTube and Spotify would not stream properly throughout my stay, despite both services having worked without difficulty on previous visits. The problem affected both my mobile phone and iPad, although BBC iPlayer continued to work.
Secondly, the bath plug supplied in my room was too small and would not retain the water. I therefore had to make a journey to Screwfix in Dover to purchase a suitable replacement at my own expense. This was an unnecessary inconvenience.
Thirdly, the spa pool in the leisure complex was completely empty and unavailable throughout my entire ten-night stay. Initially, I assumed it had been drained for routine cleaning or a water change, but it never reopened. This was particularly disappointing, as I normally look forward to using this facility.
Although my stay was otherwise reasonably enjoyable, these issues detracted from the overall experience. I hope the management will address them before my next visit.

I stayed at this hotel by motorcycle on two previous occasions before taking a ferry to Calais.

We’ve stayed there a few times to catch the early morning ferry to France. We’d happily stay there again anytime; the location—specifically the proximity to the ferry terminal—is simply ideal.
