Hotel Spahr

The superior room was spacious.

The air conditioner was a ventilator. No cold air.

The room was quite large and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel is located in Bad Cannstatt - just across from the Uffkirche. There is a public transport stop nearby.

There aren't many plug sockets, and it's particularly annoying that there isn't one near the beds.

Installation un peu vétuste ( électrique et plomberie)

I arrived during the June-July heatwave of Summer 2026. The MOST INTELLIEGENT and EMPATHETIC MOVE, on the part of the hotel, was to place a small, but well-functioning KLIMAANLAGE (or AIR CONDITIONER) in my room. Without the air conditioner, I wouldn't have been able to sleep at night. The breakfast was a self-service buffet that offered both the traditional KALTPLATTE, or Cold Plate of cold meat slices / cheese etc, as well as hot food that was both boiled (eggs) or fried (meat). You could eat as much as you wished --- and I did. The food was excellent and the hotel staff were polite and friendly.

It is, I know, an UNREALISTIC DEMAND, but I wish that there had been a fridge in my room. The hotel is NOT RESPONSIBLE for the almost unbearable heat experienced by those who either live or spent holiday time in Germany during the last 4 weeks. The heat was unbearable. I had nowhere to keep mineral water or fizzy drinks that I had bought cool.
