La Source de La Chapelaine

Die Lage ist soweit gut. Das Dorf jedoch eine Enttäuschung. Leider konnte ich wegen des Wetters den hübschen Garten nicht geniessen. Der Empfang war sehr liebenswürdig. Das ZImmer sehr schön. Helle fröhliche Farben und und liebevoll eingerichtet. Das Bad und WC je separat, sauber, rel. stylish. Die Wirtin sehr, sehr freundlich. Ich spreche nicht sehr gut französisch, und sie hat sich richtig toll bemüht, sich mit mir zu unterhalten.. Ich würde jederzeit dort wieder übernachten. Das Vercors ist echt einen Abstecher wert. Ich bin sehr begeistert.

Das Restaurant ist, im Gegensatz zum Zimmer, etwas kühl und unpersönlich gestaltet. Das Essen könnte etwas liebevoller hergerichtet sein.

A little gem of a rustic hotel with real heart and soul. We chose this hotel as a one-night stop-off on our European motorcycle tour, as it offered a great location and secure onsite parking. We were not disappointed and were given a warm welcome by the owner who is just wonderful (really sorry, I forgot to ask your name, as we were having such fun). The tall handsome barman (according to my wife) was just as friendly and helpful and spoke good English, which helped as our French is very limited. The room was quirky in a lovely way, as well as spacious, which is important when you have bulky bike clothing and helmets. An added bonus were the views over the gardens. We ate in the hotel and had an excellent meal of bavette steak and fries washed down with decent wine, so all became right with the world after a hard day’s ride. The breakfast offered a good selection of fruits, meats, cheeses and pastries The location is ideal being just off the village centre, which in itself is delightful. The area offers some excellent riding and is well worth the effort for the peace, tranquillity and beautiful views. We can highly recommend the hotel for the warm welcome, charm and wonderfully quirky feel.

While French is not my spoken language, I try my best to communicate in the local tongue, this did not appear to be acceptable. The breakfast offered again was not a 'normal' continental breakfast that we are used to on holidays neither were the drinks, the choices were non available and not plentiful. The private parking facilities were a open wooden shed store shared with old trailers and lawn mowers, secure? As for the room it was clean and tidy, the shower however was so cold my partner would not use.
