The staff, location/view, breakfast and gym/courts were awesome.
Unfortunately, the weather was cold and unpleasant during our stay, which meant we spent a significant amount of time in the hotel. Under these circumstances, several shortcomings of the facilities became apparent, particularly considering the price tag of over €600 per night.
* Unheated pools: The pools are not heated by default. Heating to 26°C is theoretically available for an additional €40 per day. However, it takes at least 48 hours to reach the target temperature. Even more frustratingly, the pools reportedly cannot reach this temperature when the wind is strong—which is hardly an unusual occurrence for a hotel perched on a cliff overlooking the sea.
* Room comfort: While the room looks stylish, it is not particularly comfortable. The sofa is aesthetically pleasing but offers very little comfort. The space between the bed and the wall is also extremely cramped. For the person sleeping next to the wall, getting out of bed during the night is almost a safety hazard: you have to squeeze past a marble table with sharp edges and then remember the step in the floor to avoid tripping. Finally, the sound insulation of the sea-facing windows is inadequate. During strong winds, we had to use earplugs to sleep comfortably.
* Spa facilities: Given the absence of a bathtub and a heated pool in our room, we had hoped to use the spa to warm up and relax. Unfortunately, access to the spa is only available when booking a massage or hammam package, at prices roughly twice what we encountered at other four- and five-star hotels on Crete. We went ahead and booked massages, only to be disappointed by the facilities themselves. The sauna is small, lacks even basic headrests and backrests, and has a door that does not close properly. Most disappointing, however, is the extremely bright, artificial LED lighting installed inside the sauna, which completely undermines the relaxing atmosphere one would expect.

The resort is absolutely beautiful, the staff are very attentive and the rooms are amazing.
We unfortunately had bad weather when we were there.

Great amenities. Amazing ambiance. The view is incredible. The staff are very nice. Bed is comfortable. The private pool is well maintained. Onsite restaurants and bar are nice. Gym is incredible.
The shower in the cave room is in a weird position. Water gets on the floor from the shower (we had to ask for extra towels). The room could use extra hooks to hang towels. The bathroom could use some art or decoration.

Acro Suites is undeniably a beautiful resort with a stunning aesthetic and a serene atmosphere. The staff are genuinely friendly, warm, and eager to help, and the room‑service team generally delivers well. Breakfast is good, with a nice variety and fresh options, and the overall setting of the resort makes for a visually impressive stay.
For a property positioned — and priced — as a luxury resort, there are several areas where management has clear opportunities to elevate the experience. At £600 a night, guests naturally expect near‑perfection, and the service levels don’t consistently meet that standard. Service can be slow across the board, especially during breakfast, which takes away from the otherwise enjoyable start to the day.
The private pool was the biggest disappointment for us. Despite paying a premium for a room with a pool, the water was far too cold to enjoy, which significantly impacted the value of the stay.
Operational rigidity also shows in the strict check‑in and check‑out approach, which feels out of place for a luxury property where flexibility is usually part of the experience.
The gym is another area that needs attention. Although the space is large, it’s poorly designed — not enough machines, no air‑conditioning, and the open door leads to dust constantly blowing in. The cleaning team works hard, but the frequent mopping makes the floor slippery, creating a safety concern.
Finally, the room design itself feels dysfunctional despite its generous size. Storage is limited, towel hooks are oddly placed far from the shower, and some drawers don’t close properly. These small but noticeable issues add up and detract from the overall comfort.
