Nice traditional hotel with big car park, good breakfast, walking distance to town centre

A good solid hotel. It does what it says on the tin so to speak. Comfortable enough for a convenience stay - warm, dry and clean. The young chap at breakfast was very helpful and cheerful. If all you want is a good basic hotel for the night or 2, a good breakfast in that location this is great. Perfect for us when visiting family in Whitehaven.
Although it is currently being renovated it is still an average hotel. Clean enough but still some things like carpet on the bedroom coming up and a wobbly window sill and damp marks on ceiling (room6).

Fresh cooked breakfast, only 10-15 minute walk into town centre, good location, very nice staff. Large rooms, comfortable bed.

Staff all very nice working in difficult conditions
The main lounge is being renovated and that should be highlighted when booking . There is nowhere to sit for a drink or chat that is comfortable . Also the stair carpet is heavily stained
