Smile Hotel Shin-osaka

I really appreciated how convenient the location was, sitting right on the Midosuji line with plenty of conbinis close by for quick stops. The free amenities like toothbrushes, combs, and razors were also a nice bonus that made the stay a bit easier.

There was a dead bug on the window sill and even a live one on the ceiling, which definitely took away from the experience. The strict “no food in the lobby” policy felt unnecessary, especially since we were just passing through on our way back to the room and weren’t planning to eat there. On top of that, we were told to go back outside before we could transition to our rooms, which felt overly rigid and inconvenient.

Very convenient location, about 15 minutes walk from Shin-Osaka Station and roughly 5 minutes walk from Nishinakajima-Minamigata Station (for the Midosuji Line). The staff are very nice and accommodating. There are washers and dryers to do your laundry, and I really found it helpful that the staff can lend you an iron and ironing board upon asking, making it a comfortable few days’ stay. The pillows were kind of hard though but I didn’t mind it much. I still slept well. The checkout being at 11am was very helpful as I didn’t have to rush to leave in the morning, especially during rush hour.

Good location from Shin Osaka station

Nothing to not like. Friendly staff. Always ready to help. We gave away our Australian souvenirs to them as a token of appreciation for their efforts.

Hotel room is clean within walking distance to Shin Osaka station.

Room and toilet size is small for two pax. Not much facilities around the hotel.
