This place was immaculate and large. Perfect for the 5 of us. Sure there were some tiny inconveniences (had to run an extra spin cycle and run dryer twice) but the stay was still excellent. 3 bathrooms makes a huge difference when showering at the same time. The master shower is so huge and the water pressure and temp was great. Best shower I've ever seen. It's about a half mile from Hwy 98 which would get congested during rush hour but still manageable. The apartment was right beside the building stairs making it quick to get to the beach or parking lot. We seldom used the elevator. There are two buildings each with it's own pool so if one is crowded you can choose the other. This apartment is nearly in the middle of the two pool and beach access points. Beach access is simple and fast. Get up early and and request a complimentary umbrella and chairs. The beach attendees are friendly and helpful. We borrowed life jackets and used our own paddleboards. Crab Island Waterworks is a great place to rent a pontoon and only a half mile away. There is a really nice beach to visit in the bay called Gulf Island National Shores where you can walk over a 100yrds and the water is only waist deep. It's great for finding shells and seeing fish. We liked the town not being as busy as Destin. There are still plenty of shops and the Boardwalk is fun to visit. Destin is only 5 miles away of you desire more places to spend money. Overall, we loved the condo and Fort Walton.

It was filthy—sand in “pantry”, mud on bedding, dirty cookware, bath/ shower not cleaned, trash left on patio. It was in horrible disrepair. The fridge was missing shelves, and all door racks were broken. The oven door even came apart and fell off! We were moved from a sleeps 12 house to a sleeps 8 condo , but it was at least functional and clean. A refund of the $$$ paid was not offered as an option.Gulf Dunes was a lovely property and experience. The low sores are reflective of the abysmal Coconut Beach House.
