Governo Vecchio Guesthouse Navona

the location of the guesthouse is perfect, a few minutes' walk from Piazza Navona and Piazza Venezia. the room itself is large and clean.

the temperature in the room was very hot and the A/C could do very little to refrigerate the whole room. the room itself is made up of two floors: the upper one with the king bed didn't get any cooler during the night the A/C was on, the lower floor has a sofa-bed with an awfully uncomfortable mattress. would not recommend to stay here (i) in the summer and (ii) with more than two people.

The guesthouse is in an unbeatable location just off Piazza Navona. It's therefore a short walk from many prime locations in Rome, making it a perfect place to stay. It is well insulated and we did not have any issues sleeping even though it's in a busy part of the city. Staff were very helpful during the check-in and checkout process, making out stay smooth.

Some small improvements can be made to the cleanliness, however the guesthouse is on the right track.

Great location and very good value for money. Host was very helpful and easy to contact.

The location is great, and the beds were really comfortable. The hosts did try to be helpful the next morning when we raised the issues, and they were very easygoing about letting us check in early and check out late, which we really appreciated.

We were initially given the wrong WiFi code by a member of staff, though we eventually managed to work out the correct one. The hot tub, which was the main reason we booked this property, wasn’t working. It’s possible we simply weren’t given instructions on how to turn it on. We tried to contact the host, but as it was already late we couldn’t get through, so unfortunately we never got to enjoy it. On closer inspection, the hot tub also hadn’t been cleaned properly; there were hairs floating at the bottom, so to be honest we’re not sure we would have used it anyway. We also had problems with the hot water and had to take cold showers. On top of that, the air conditioning wasn’t working well, and we couldn’t get the coffee machine to work at all.
