The Chesterton Hotel

Lovely setting/location; in proximity to the place we were visiting. Very clean. Comfortable bar and welcoming restaurant. Staff at front desk, bar, restaurant and housekeeping were excellent.

Very restricted lactose-free food options.

Nice white towels and linen in room Room was clean the cooked breakfast was good did not have dinner

Heatwave and the room was super hot with only a fan to try and cool it down. The water in the room was warm because it was so hot Nothing was done to try and combat the heat by putting the fan on before guests went to the room or offer cold water at the reception . Decor was very black and grey and felt more like the 80s and tacky and not very Boutique at all for such a lovely building and in 2026 was disappointing . Continental breakfast offering was poor Bed was not the most comfortable quite hard Even the 'Garden View' was patches of artificial grass which looked poorly and cheaply done which we felt was reflected throughout the whole hotel.
