Caldera Village

We spent a week at the hotel with our 16-month-old baby. We would like to thank all the hotel staff because we had a very nice stay. Everyone was very kind, friendly and helpful. Our apartment had a beautiful view of the sea. It was well-equipped and very clean. The apartment was cleaned every day. The food in the hotel restaurant was very good. The buffet breakfast was the best we have had on our trips so far. We also had dinner at the hotel every evening, and everything was very tasty. We especially enjoyed the Greek night and were happy to try many different Greek dishes. The pool water was a little too cold for us, but the sea was very pleasant even in September. The hotel also provides sun loungers on the beach, which was very nice. The baby playroom in the hotel was also very helpful, especially when the weather was bad. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would gladly come back.

The only thing that would have been helpful was a microwave in the apartment (although we knew when we booked that there wouldn’t be one). Also, the pool water was a little cold for us, although the sea was very pleasant.

Staff was excellent, especially the cleaning staff who was very thorough and even went an extra mile to make our son smile. The restaurant staff is very efficient and ready to help with anything. The property is very clean and well kept especially the pools and the (new) rooms are very big, cool and comfortable. The kitchen is a very big plus as I also had to cook for my child. I do recommend you take the car down the very steep hill to get to the seaside if you have a child or if your knees don't work like they used to :). Overall we had a great vacation in this hotel and it would be great if the old rooms were refurbished.

We almost left the hotel on our first day. At check-in we were told that we got an upgrade to a suite with sea view and that it was on the ground floor. What they failed to tell us was that the ground floor was actually the basement and we had to go down 2 flights of stairs with a toddler and a stroller. And they did know we had a toddler with us since they prepared a cot. The room was damp and smelled bad (most likely mold) and the furniture was old and some of it stained. Only after my husband complained and threatened to leave that we got another room which was in a new building, beautifully furnished and with direct access to an elevator. It seemed we were in a different hotel. Food (especially the evening buffet) could be improved as it is tasteless. And pillows must be changed as they are either too hard or too soft.

We enjoyed the location and the all-inclusive package.

The bed creaked with every move, and the TV only had two English-language channels available — both were news.
