The cottage is in a very convenient location for visiting my parents & other family that live in Millom. It is also a short walk from Tesco & the train station.The owner was very responsive when I had some issues during my stay & ensured that things were dealt with quickly. The cottage was very clean & comfortable, I would stay again.
The toilet seat slips a little when used. The sink in the bathroom is cramped to use as it has been placed directly between the end of the shower screen & the wall with little room for manoeuvre. I couldn't use the main bedroom window as apparently the frame has been damaged & it is awaiting replacement. Likewise, the bathroom window is temperamental, so I had to keep it closed & air the room by opening the back door

It was neatly maintained and so comfortable
Bathroom shower unit was falling off and was too risky when kids go in the shower and falls on them. I luckily caught when it almost fell on my lil one.

Do not be put off by the area and exterior of the cottage. The cottage is well equipped and is in walking distance of the coastline and nature reserve. Climbing,walking and places of interest to visit are easily accessible with a car. Despite the residential area it was very peaceful and quiet. People are friendly and facilities are nearby. Despite my comments i had an amazing few days leaving feeling restored rested and some regret at leaving .
I like sitting outside with a book and a glass of wine but the court yard was full of weeds and a rusty barbecue. This is a facility that is important to me in order to fully enjoy my stay and i felt unable to access this as it felt too uncomfortable . Visually this was unpleasant and disappointing . Not like the photo.The milk in the fridge was off and lounge carpet badly stained.

all the unexpected extras, biscuits and other foods
as the toilet is downstairs and stairs have no handrail or much support, it makes it difficult for us seniors (or anyone with night toilet requirements) so please consfder rail or even rope down the stairs to assist
