Strandhotel am Weissensee

Es passiert nicht oft, aber dieses Hotel ist noch viel schöner als die Fotos in Booking. Es ist ein kleines Paradies mit perfektem Service. Der Wellnessbereich ist ein Traum, Morgenyoga am See ist im Preis mit drin und man kann sich problemlos den ganzen Tag hier aufhalten. Das vegetarische Frühstück und das vegane Menü am Abend sind großartig. Man erhält die Weissensee Card und kann Busse, Sessellift und Schiffe umsonst nutzen. Es gibt einen Shuttle zum nächsten Bahnhof.

SPA-Bereich direkt am See ist super (um hinzukommen muss man über die wenig befahrene Straße). Tolle Lage insgesamt. Essen (ausschließlich vegetarisch) war sehr gut.

Viele Treppen, insb. zum Eingangsbereich hin, aber auch im Restaurant! Achtung bei Gehbehinderungen. Lichtschalterkonzept ist mehr als gewöhnungsbedürftig (8 Schalter neben dem Bett!), trotzdem kein gutes/gemütliches bzw. helles Licht/Ausleuchtung. Klimaanlage ohne Beschriftung von selbsterklärend weit entfernt. Zwischen Wohn-/Schlafraum und Bad/WC nur Glas mit nicht blickdichtem Vorhang - man fragt sich was das soll??? Nachts mit entsprechendem Blendeffekt für den Partner.

The three course vegetarian dinners were fantastic; with fresh ingredients, imaginative and creative dishes, and a good wine and drinks menu to accompany the food. Although we are not vegetarian, we really enjoyed the food (also the breakfasts, which were wonderful despite COVID restrictions) and would recommend this hotel highly to vegetarians and vegans. We also liked the location of the hotel, just at the beginning of the "Kurzone" where there is very little road traffic. The room was pleasant and clean. Some of the staff were fantastic as well.

Service was uneven. Some staff were fantastic, others were inattentive or outright rude. On two out of the four occasions we had dinner in the hotel, we waited for a long time to be served; once we complained after 20 minutes and learned that the couple next to us had been waiting for 40 minutes (in contrast to us, they were too polite to complain). When we visited, the weather was cold and rainy; we knew this to be a risk and had deliberately chosen a hotel with an inside swimming pool. We weren't pleased to learn, upon arrival, that the pool was being refurbished - we would have considered it good practice to inform guests about this beforehand.
