Breakfast was fantastic

It was all good… except the view from my room was an abandoned building and air conditioning units

The location is unbeatable, within comfortable walking distance from every site we wished to visit. We took the breakfast included option. The a la carte breakfast menu is impressive and perfectly executed. Best cuppucino ever. Restaurant staff went out of their way to meet all of our breakfast requests. Hosekeeping is efficient, friendly and accomodating. The front desk and lobby staff were friendly and helpful around the clock, anything you need to feel at home, starting from the e-mail and WhatsApp texting assistance to set up our arrival, including arranging transport from the airport and back. On our check-out day the front desk manager jumped through hoops to enable us to keep a room until we needed to leave for the airport in the late afternoon - no hotel ever did that for us before. Our personal thanks to Thanasis, Konstantina, Alex, Ionna, Manolis and a few more whose names we did not get, for making a great stay.

Our room lacked an adequate solution for unpacking and shelving our belongings for the duration of our stay.

Property was in a great location, amazing gym, staff was excellent. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Property was clean and well decorated. Breakfast was a hit every morning by, the kitchen is amazing.

What I liked * Excellent location, close to great restaurants, galleries, the Acropolis and so much of what makes Athens worth exploring. * Very kind and welcoming staff. * A lovely, comfortable room with a very comfortable bed. * Having a restaurant and room service was a real plus. * A well-stocked minibar — something that is surprisingly far from standard.

What I didn’t like * The main disappointment was maintenance, particularly in the bathroom. The shower drain was partially blocked, with water almost overflowing onto the bathroom floor. The rainfall showerhead was so clogged with limescale that water sprayed in different directions, making a relaxing shower difficult. * The bathroom floor was badly worn in places, while the metallic shelves and fittings were discoloured and covered in limescale. Beautiful at first glance, but noticeably tired up close. In a five-star hotel, I expect the bathroom to be spotless and impeccably maintained. * I raised these issues with the staff, who were very kind, attempted repairs and offered a voucher for a drink. I appreciated their response, but the problems were not fully resolved. This felt like accumulated wear and inadequate upkeep, possibly compounded by finishes that are difficult to maintain, rather than a one-off housekeeping lapse. It needs proper attention beyond a goodwill gesture.
