Didn’t get off to a great start! The systems of communication don’t appear to be working here! I received an email asking me to check in online, which I did, including passport details etc, and I chose the option to include breakfast for our entire stay at a reduced price. On arrival they had no record of any of this and we went through the whole process again of filling in forms. I was told the breakfast offer would still stand. However the next morning at breakfast, sure enough they had no knowledge of this and assured me breakfast was not included! I had to go to reception to sort it all out before we were able to enjoy breakfast on the first day. I have to say the staff were all very friendly and amenable during all this though. The breakfast was quite satisfactory, nothing special. We stayed in a “Large” room, which actually wasn’t that large. There were a couple of not-that-comfy armchairs and the bed was really hard! There was nowhere to store clothes, just a few hangers, and not offering room service under the guise of sustainability in a hotel charging such high prices is ridiculous! We had to ask for extra towels as there’s no way hotel towels dry from day to day. The bedding was all feathers, which we had to get changed due to allergy, and the lighting is so dim it’s hard to see in the bathroom.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Explained everything clearly. Oskar helped with booking a boat trip for us which was kind of him.

Everything. A lovely hotel, excellent facilities, incredibly quiet, with wonderful staff.

I liked everything. Perhaps two comments, a rug by the bed would have been appreciated, and while the lighting is very nice for general ambience, it is too low/dull for tasks, even with all lights turned on. I had to sit by the window to read or apply make up, which made these things difficult to do in the evenings.

The staff were lovely and I really enjoyed the quirkiness in the details of the decor. The location is also fantastic for exploring the city.

Unfortunately, I think I had one of the worst medium single rooms. My window looked into the inner part of the hotel, which I normally wouldn’t mind, but the bar was down there and open late, so it was noisy. The layout of the room also meant there was no headboard. The gym/fitness room was a nice space but could do with some heavier dumbbells
