Sigiri Sierra View Resort

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The hotel is in a lovely, quiet location, with spacious and clean rooms and a beautiful pool area. But what really makes this place special are the people who work here. Everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. They offered to drive us wherever we needed to go for a very fair price and even got up extra early so that we could see Lion Rock at sunrise. Their hospitality went above and beyond. I accidentally left my swimming shorts by the pool, and after a quick message, they immediately packed them up and sent them to our next accommodation. Overall, an amazing experience and one of those places you remember because of the wonderful people. 11/10 – we would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

The hotel is located in a beautiful and quiet natural setting just outside Sigiriya, only about a 5-minute tuk-tuk ride from the village. The surroundings are green and peaceful. The pool area is nice and appears to be cleaned and maintained daily. The room was spacious and the staff were friendly and willing to help when asked.

The biggest issue was the humidity in the room and bathroom. The building seems to have poor ventilation, which makes the room very damp. There was visible mold on the curtains and in the bathroom. The bathroom windows are permanently open and cannot be closed, which seems to be their way of dealing with the humidity but it does not really solve the problem. Cleanliness could also be improved — the floors were dirty and the bed linen had stains, although the staff changed the sheets immediately when we mentioned it. The room also had limited space for storing clothes and belongings.
