Hotel Metropol & Spa

Not only was the property and our room very clean but the staff was Amazing! Not just the front desk staff but the kitchen staff helped when my daughter was sick and could not come down for breakfast, they were kind and checked in with us each day to see how she was doing. This was an amazing stay and if I ever return to Zermatt (and I hope I do) I would definitely stay here! The pool, sauna and hot tub…all wonderful! Breakfast was great and I don’t think we could have had a better view of the Matterhorn!!! Thank you all!

Amazing Matterhorn view from balcony! Friendly and helpful staff. Took the free transfer from/ to train station with our heavy luggages.

Mountain view from our room was amazing Staff were really pleasant and helpful Swimming pool and spa excellent

The Metropole Hotel and Spa is a really nice place. The owners and all the staff are wonderful. Rather than being located on Bahnhofstrasse, which is the very noisy, very crowded main street of Zermatt, it's located a couple of blocks away, on the river, where it's much quieter, yet still only a 7-8 minute walk to the train station and less than that to the Cathedral, Matterhorn museum, and Town Hall. I booked a single room with a twin bed. The room was smaller than I usually prefer, but cleverly designed so it didn't feel cramped. The included breakfast was fantastic with lots of options, including ordering eggs cooked any way you like them. Maybe best of all is the view from the dining room and outdoor deck - the floor-to-ceiling windows provide a breathtaking view of the Matterhorn. They also have some nice amenities such s a swimming pool, sauna, and a free shuttle to pick you up at the train station. Finally, I thought the price was attractive, especially for everything they offer, and compared with other properties in town.
