The Linton Hotel

Charming, cozy, and quaint would best describe this place as well as the whole area!

great little stay, nice Pub/Hotel, locals are friendly and the food in the restaurant was excellent, East Linton was a great little village, with a watermill and Dovecote walk to explore. but be warned it was very hot day when we stayed, so we had the windows open, the village church/clock nearby its bells ring on the hour from 8am to 11pm and the East Coast main railway line is close too, so the trains rattle through till late, it did not bother us we found it a bit of a laugh tbh.

Contrary to some other reviews we (2 adults+dog) found the Linton to be very pleasant and convenient. The room was clean (although the carpet could do with a bit of tlc), and you like to see and hear trains going past (we do!) then this is the place for you. The room was big enough to move around in and place a dog bed in. The only downside was the weak shower - as other reviewers have also mentioned. The cooked breakfast was very good, using high quality ingredients, and catering for a veggie and a meat-eater equally. For £90 per night in this part of the world it was great value. Would definitely come back.
