I just love staying here! It’s the second time I’ve stayed at the Thistle Suites / Royal Garden Apartments and I have to say: staff at the front desk is just amazing. They’re friendly, welcoming and so helpful every time. The location is very convenient and you get everything you need in a few minutes walk. Plus, you can totally tell they’ve remodeled it AND coffee in the lobby was outstanding! This is totally worth the price. Book it. Thanks for a great stay, ladies, see you soon!

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. The rooms were nice and clean. Had everything we needed.
Only one thing that was a little uncomfortable was the hard beds and dense pillows. We had a very good stay and the location was close to the bus station.

The staff were friendly. The location is central, close to the Waverley train station and walking distance to so many things.
The kitchen was well equipped.
The laundry was convenient, although the machines are a little touchy and take forever to do a load.
The apartment was nice and clean. The bed was a little hard however that is a personal preference. Our room had a nice interior view of the gardens and was quiet.
Overall a great home base while in Edinburgh.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Thistle Suites in Edinburgh. Our suite was spacious, clean and comfortable for our group of 4. We enjoyed the living area and kitchen amenities. Front desk staff was accommodating and helpful. One of the best things about this accommodation is the location in Newtown. Close to the train and bus station and easy walking distance to the Old town. Communication with the property was effortless. The only issues I would mention is that the size of the bed in the master room is definitely not a North American Queen and that the smell in some of the halls and lobby area was really bad, suggestive of dead mice. Thankfully this smell was not evident in our room. Aside from that, the room was terrific and we would definitely stay there again.
