Piazza Ascona Hotel & Restaurants

L'emplacement est exceptionnel avec une magnifique vue sur le lac, un charmant petit balcon, le personnel très sympathique, le petit déjeuner excellent !

Location is great. Very clean and comfortable.

Room was a bit small, but on the other side the bathroom was spacious.

The location of the hotel is ideally situated right on the main piazza and only a short walk from the city center, grocery shops, local museums, and bus stop to Locarno. The stop for the ferry to the Isole di Brissago and other places on Lago Maggiore is also conveniently right in front of the hotel. The staff at the hotel and the adjacent restaurant are all very professional and friendly. I was able to request an electric water kettle in advance for my room in order to make tea. The water pressure in the shower was also really great and the balcony view from my room was incredible.

The only thing I would have liked would be a mini fridge or a vending machine with waters, etc. Since the local grocery stores close at around 6:30 or 7pm, there is no real way to get anything but tap water unless you order from the hotel restaurant (which is open until about 11pm or so).

Location

Everything is good except during check in. Reception (guy) refused to accept my driving license at check in and demanded my passport even though I am not a foreign guest. Absolutely absurd!!
