Logement confortable, d'une impeccable propreté, donnant sur un agréable jardin intérieur et situé à 1 500 mètres du centre ville de Bellagio, que l'on peut rejoindre par une belle promenade à travers les jardins de la villa Melzi (du moins aux heures d'ouverture) et le long du lac. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié l'accès illimité et gratuit aux jardins de la villa, Possibilité de stationner sa voiture gratuitement sur un emplacement privé à l'entrée des jardins.

Lors de la réservation, l'information suivante est donnée : "Parcheggio pubblico disponibile gratuitamente in loco senza prenotazione". Quelques heures avant l'arrivée, elle est complétée par le message : "The parking is in front of the property". En fait, il s'agit d'un parking privé, gratuit et situé à quelques mètres de l'hébergement, mais à l'intérieur de la ZTL de Loppia, distincte de celle de Bellagio-Centre, ce qui n'était pas annoncé et que le voyageur ne connaissant pas déjà les lieux découvre en arrivant sur place. A lui d'improviser ! Une information complète et préalable aurait été la bienvenue et n'aurait pas nui à la qualité, réelle, de l'hébergement.

Le calme, la localisation et la réactivité de l’hôte

Rien tout était parfait

We stayed in Alberto apartment on the top floor, which has a small private balcony with a view of the lake. We loved sitting on the balcony at night with a glass of wine. It’s a really spacious apartment in a very peaceful location far away from the tourist crowds, but only 15 minutes walk from Bellagio. The big bonus is being able to walk to and from Bellagio along the lake shore through the beautiful gardens of Villa Melzi, for which your apartment key gives you free access between 10.00 to 19.00. You just show your key to the garden gate staff. The apartment is in a traditional Lombardian style building. The windows face onto a rear courtyard, across a second balcony and having shutters to keep out the light and to keep it cooler in summer. It’s also only a 9 minute walk from the public beach at San Giovanni where we enjoyed a swim in the lake. We loved this place and would recommend it if you want to be away from the crowds and don’t mind a bit of walking.

When the Melzi garden is closed you have to walk along the road to and from Bellagio, which involves a short, steepish hill, so you need a certain fitness for this. There is a marked and illuminated path along the road. If you are going to do laundry in the apartment be aware it does not have a washing machine and that you are not allowed to hang your laundry outside to dry. Lastly, note the apartment is at the top of a wooden spiral staircase. There is a light switch at the bottom to illuminate the stair at night but we could not find a working switch at the top to illuminate the descent, which we reported to the host as it felt a bit unsafe walking down when we were going out for the evening. You just have to be careful with your step.

Quiet location with lovely views of the lake. Near to the Gardens and were allowed to walk through for free to Bellagio which cut out the big hill if walking.

A long walk to the supermarket which was closed for 3 hours over lunchtime. Apartment a bit tired especially the bathroom but adequate. Needs a bit of attention. Unfortunately we left after the first night as in the building next door there was total renovation building work going on starting at 7am. It appears to be a long term project so may go on for some time so check before booking as we weren't informed of this and had been going on for some time already.
