Pure Salt Port de Sóller

We had mixed feelings about our stay at Pure Salt Port de Sóller. The location is excellent, just a 2–3 minute walk from the beach, and Port de Sóller itself is beautiful. Breakfast was generally good, and most of the staff we encountered were friendly, especially Sandra, the hostess at breakfast. Unfortunately, our initial room was a major disappointment, particularly given the €200+ per night price. The room was advertised as 18m2 but felt smaller, with very limited space for two people's luggage, a tiny bathroom and shower, no balcony, and a view largely onto a wall and the neighbouring building. A drying rack was also listed among the facilities but was not available in the room; when we asked about this, the suggestion from reception was to hang our wet clothes in the shower. After we pursued the matter, however, the hotel made a genuine effort to resolve the situation and upgraded us, which we appreciated and which made the remainder of our stay much more enjoyable. They even provided breakfast for us at the ungodly hour of 5 a.m. when we had to leave. Overall, there is a lot to like about the hotel, particularly its location, the breakfast staff and the beautiful views, but I found the original price-to-value ratio of the standard room difficult to justify. I would recommend looking carefully at the different room categories when booking.

Good location

The hotel lacks attention to detail to be able to accurately describe itself as luxury. My room was a little worn as are various areas of the hotel. Service was great to begin with however the reception desk was incredibly slow (I was waiting a day) to get back to me about a simple question. The buffet breakfast was also disappointing - I don’t think anywhere describing itself as luxury should be serving baked beans for breakfast.
