Nothing really stood out as particularly positive. It was just a hotel. Doors, windows, rooms, a bathroom — all the usual things you’d expect from a building calling itself a hotel. You can sleep there, which I suppose is a plus. So, did I like it? Sure. It’s certainly a step up from sleeping under a bridge. But beyond that, there wasn’t much to get excited about.
Well, for a hotel, a good night’s sleep is pretty much the number one requirement. Everything else is supposed to be a bonus.
I wasn’t particularly impressed by the fact that sleeping here actually requires earplugs, as I could clearly hear the TV in an adjacent room. I’m not even sure which room it was coming from, since the doors seemed to block sound considerably better than the walls or ceilings.
The duvets were also remarkably thin, leaving my legs rather cold during the night.
And of course, special bonus points should go to whoever decided that, in a room designed for two people, one of them should have to squeeze through an approximately 30 cm gap between the bed and the wall just to get into bed. A truly inspired design choice.
While we’re on the subject of inspired decisions, the placement of the bedside light switches and the power outlet intended for charging a phone was equally fascinating. They were located halfway along the length of the bed, in the middle of the wall. I tried a couple of times to make my phone levitate next to the outlet, but unfortunately, without success. Presumably, that’s on me.
Breakfast was OK, although I wouldn’t say the same about having to queue twice — first for food and then for coffee. And the coffee queue wasn’t a one-time experience. Every refill required another wait, thanks to someone’s brilliant conclusion that a single coffee machine would be more than sufficient for an entire hotel.

"Simple, clean, great value for miney. Wide bed, balcony, view to the back. No street noise. Close to Estonian national museum which we planned on visiting first."
