The Balarwa Haveli is a well-run family hotel with a lot of attention given to their guests. The owner is super helpful and the staff are very friendly. We stayed there for two nights and used the rooftop restaurant for dinner. The food is excellent, and you also get a good view of the fort. The rooms are spacious and have all the amenities to make your stay comfortable. All in all, a very pleasant stay and highly recommended.
The haveli is situated at the edge of the old town and hence noise levels are sometimes high. It helps though to be situated in a quiet lane. The windows, which are tinted in the typical haveli style, could do with some double glazing to make the stay perfect.

Good value for the money, position convenient as close to the train station, the personnel was very accommodating. They cooked for me at midnight and let me keep the suitcase after the check-out twice.
The cleanliness has much room for improvement, the bed was not very comfortable, some stray dogs and trash in front of the place. If you arrive after the dark from the train station, do not attempt to walk but take a tuk-tuk or a car.

The best above all was the readiness of the staff, to attend to any issues, very attentive and very friendly. The location is very near the train station, which is very convenient. It's not in the historic area, but easy enough to get there. Note that online taxis will not go there, you need to walk a block or two (or a rickshaw could take you). The roof top is a fun place to be, with great food, and good views of the fort.
We had a street level room, and although it is a relatively quiet street, there was still quite a bit of honking. The room was very spacious, but poorly utilized with furniture which we hardly used. The bathroom was very austere (no place to put personal hygiene items, for example), and we had to ask for toilet paper. Cleanliness was not up to par. Overall, we thought the place was overpriced for what was being offered.
