Foresteria B&B Vecchiascuola Pianazzola

We absolutely loved our stay in Pianazzola! The hotel used to be a school, and the owner beautifully transformed it into a small, unique hotel where each room represents a different school subject. We stayed in the Family Room, also called the Music Room, and it was such a special experience. The room had incredible panoramic views of the mountains and Chiavenna down in the valley. It was clean and comfortable, and there was also a kitchen with everything you might need. If you don’t feel like cooking, there is a restaurant downstairs as well. The parking is about a 3-minute walk from the hotel through charming, authentic old houses, which we actually really enjoyed. The whole place has such a unique atmosphere that you don’t get at a typical hotel.

The only thing I would improve is the instructions for arriving and finding the room. We figured out where to leave our car from the photos in the Booking.com description, but we never received instructions on how to get to our room. When we arrived, there was no one at the reception desk, and unfortunately, my WhatsApp account was blocked right after I tried calling the number posted on the door. The room names were also different from what was shown on our Booking.com reservation, so at first we weren’t even sure if we were in the right place. Luckily, the restaurant was open, and the staff kindly helped me get in touch with the owner. In the end, everything was resolved and we got into our room without any problem. Despite this little arrival adventure, I’m still giving 5 stars because our overall stay was wonderful. ❤️ I hope the owner takes this feedback into consideration, because with a little clearer arrival information, the experience would be even smoother. They seem like a genuinely nice person, and we really enjoyed this unique little place!

Little bit far

Un endroit qui se mérite après un accès par la route sportif et une fin de parcours entre le parking et l’hôtel style randonnée. Mais à l’arrivée vraiment exceptionnel et une récompense de tous les efforts. L’accueil par nos hôtes et des plus chaleureux et les services sont parfaits. Pas d’inquiétude il y a un très bon restaurant au rez-de-chaussée pour le dîner et le petit déjeuner sur la terrasse face à la vallée et la ville de Chiavenna. La chambre dispose de tout le confort, pas besoin de climatisation on respire l’air frais et sain de l’altitude dans le village historique de Pianazzola. N’hésitez pas à risquer cette aventure qui restera comme un de nos meilleurs souvenir d’hébergements.

Un peu sportif

Very authentic place in interesting location.

no sound isolation at all. you will have the restaurant right behind the wall, that can have parties, birthdays etc and they don’t care that you are having rest. you will hear only “sorry” and the party will go on. we haven’t slept almost all night. the owner just said that he is sorry. worst service.
