The Plateau Mont-Royal, this popular area that became yuppie-bohemian is by far the most hip in Montreal. Small intimate theaters, thrift stores, used bikes, exclusive boutiques, cafes, restaurants and delis add to the cultural ferment and bohemian atmosphere that characterize the Plateau, where all lifestyles converge.
This is the best place to really get a feel of what Montreal is all about. It’s community is predominantly francophone and highly eclectic. Artists, students, young professionals and new families mingle with each other, creating an extraordinarily vibrant and colorful human mosaic. Those who do not live there come as often as possible to play and go out, and for good reasons...
Four major arteries are heart the neighborhood: The Saint-Laurent Boulevard - "The Main" - where many cultural communities have established their shops, the Rue Saint-Denis and its multitude of shops, cafes and terraces, Prince Arthur Street and its restaurants "Bring your own wine" and the Mount Royal Avenue with bars both connected and relaxed. A constant hum contrasts with the tranquility of the side streets, the lined up stairs of twisted wrought iron, as well as the lush greenery of Parc La Fontaine.
At night, the Plateau is known to be especially entertaining and warm. From chic lounge to corner microbreweries, from a wide variety of restaurants and taverns to high caffeine content and lively discussions of all it’s coffee shops, the choice is rich. The apt. was a bigger unit than two people needed but it was necessary to be close to family that live in Le Plateau-Mont-Royal. Four adults would be very comfy but for 6 adults it could tight for surfaces to place your belongings. Lots of closet space and hangers. Washer&dryer were newer and clean. There were many types of retail stores and markets outside your door. We opted for the private parking although it cost extra. Winter street parking in Montreal can sometimes be tricky but there is plenty of street parking if you are patient. The aesthetic of the apartment was so nice and cozy. The bedroom and the bed in the open area and both were very comfortable. We didn't need the Murphy bed but we checked it out and it too is comfortable. There were plenty of towels and linen. We didn't cook there but the kitchen is stocked well. Loved the plentiful Kcups and a packaged sponge at the sink. The neighborhood was safe but we liked the secure building and apartment entries. It's quiet at night and we didn't spend much time there during the day. The hosts are VERY responsive and we communicated easily. As noted in the listing, there are 22 inside stairs from the entry of the building to the apartment door- I didn't have a problem but could be a challenge for some people or if you bring very heavy items. Highly recommend and we will definitely return in the future.

We loved the apartment and the location. Very central and close to the Metro. I should say though, don't be fooled by the photo, the building where you will stay doesn't look like these represented on the cover. Still the apartment had everything we needed. Travel light since there are no elevators to the first floor. St-Viateur bagels right across the street and the best coffee one can ask for at Flers just half a block away. I would/will stay there again for sure.

Great location and apartment. Very comfortable, well equipped. Convenient central location with the crowds of Old Town. There was a problem down the street and our power went out. The management group were great helping us navigate getting in and out of the apt with a physical key as the locks are all electronic.

Great please...awesome location...if you are driving a car parking can be a challenge. Our host was nice enough to show us where to park (about a block away)
. Montreal has great public transit and Uber if needed.
