Union Hotel

We loved the Union. It wasn't our first time there and it never disappoints. We had the largest room on the 3rd floor with a 180 degree view and amazing original furniture from the early 1900s. The only small complaint is that the king sized bed could use a new mattress. We didn't sleep well because it was pretty bad, but don't let this discourage you from staying there. Maybe they will read this and put a new mattress on the bed. :)

Ideal location!

Historic and vintage. Staff was very friendly, and helped over the phone. My low rating is mostly for the upkeep and accessibility of the room/amenities. A "soaking tub" was listed as a feature, but the tubs are not operational for being the jacuzzi tubs as advertised and are in disrepair. The cabinet door was broken and extremely difficult to open and close. The AC unit was blocked by curtains, so we had to maneuver them so we could still use the ac. The AC unit and lamps had a thick layer of dust underneath and on them. The elevator (which did work) was terrifying, and when we used it did not fully get up to the third floor so we had to step out of it like it was stairs. Since the elevator felt like a horror movie, we decided to use the stairs, which was no big deal, but we did meet some lovely spiderwebs up and down them. The bed was nice and didn't have any signs of any stains or bugs, but at 5'7" I did have to physically jump into it (also scary bc the bed frame was rickety and shaking). Luckily, a step stool was provided 👀 However, throughout the night I woke up multiple times scared the bed was going to break since it was creaking at any move. The BEST part of the stay was the view. If you stay here at least get a bay view because that was worth it. Very beautiful. I appreciate the staff and their efforts, and feel awful about a lower review, but the dust and spider webs were my biggest issues and those were based on the keep that were not due to the age of the hotel.
