Amazing location and views. We received a wonderful upgrade! Never seen such beautiful sunsets from such a great point at the bar.

Found the value for money of drinks was poor. Food options after 6 pm are limited to one very high-end restaurant. Shuttle drivers were not very friendly.

We stayed at San Montano Resort for 5 days. After driving around and touring southern Italy for over two weeks, it was a refugee of relaxation. We loved the hot mineral pools to heal & calm aching muscles, the cold pool to swim, and the stone jacuzzi's views. The staff were wonderful, big shout out to our energetic waiter Salvatore (there are a few Salvatores but this gentleman stood out). We loved the breakfast choices, lunch with a spritz was fantastic, and dinner delicious. We did take a taxi to a restaurant that specialized in rabbit. It was amazing. And our taxi driver, Giuseppe, was the best! In fact he also drove us to the ferry on departure day. I had a relaxing massage that was well worth the money. And the views, yes those majestic views, can't be beat!

While the views were fabulous, you are a bit land locked. The grounds aren't big enough for a long walk and we found ourselves missing the 12,000 steps we were achieving prior to our arrival. Some of the cushions need cleaning and our shower didn't drain properly.

San Montano is the most beautiful resort with hot mineral pools and outstanding gardens and facilities. It's an older resort where the rooms are not the highlight, but the beauty of the location, the service and and the beach club on San Montano bay (probably the most beautiful swimming place in Ischia) make it an outstanding place to stay. Having breakfast on the terrace was just a delight. The service was impeccable and the food was fabulous. The cakes available at breakfast were edible works of art. The free shuttle bus to Lacco Ameno and the beach club was great. We went in to town to have dinner every night and went to beach club most days. The beach club was free to guests and had very reasonable food and drink options.

Rooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable but on the smaller side. First impressions may not be fabulous, but don't despair, you won't be spending too much time in your room anyway. There's too much to do outside and in the little township below the resort that you can get the free shuttle bus to every day.
