Hotel Spree-idyll

Room was very clean. Staff serviced the room as we needed. Location for public transport is great as the tram stop is across the road. Breakfast was delicious & the view out to the boats on the marina is really lovely. The hotel was very accommodating for our gluten free needs and the kitchen looked after us really well. ❤️

The bathroom in our room smelt of sewerage & it stunk! This should have been attended to immediately - it was not. It was fixed & the smell disappeared thankfully.

Very friendly staff, awesome location by the water. Rooms are clean, spacious and well equipped. Breakfast is fresh and there are good selections at a very good price. And cuddles with Lulu, the resident cat, make eating breakfast out on the terrace super pleasant. Having a tram stop directly out front is also super helpful. Rooms are quiet and security is excellent. I have stayed here a number of years ago and it was lovely to return. Friedrichshagen is a nice place for someone who doesn’t want to be in the urban part of Berlin to stay, without being too far from all the best parts of eastern and central Berlin.

Not having tea/coffee facilities in the room, and the bottom sheets were that Tshirt type, and not as comfortable as ‘real’ cotton sheets.

For my purpose - one overnight stay without breakfast starting on a Sunday - it was the combination of price, location, parking and EV-charging which was decisive for the booking. Friendly staff and tidy room.

The name which comprises ‘idyll’. However, the hotel is surrounded by small business (offices, gym, shops, yachting). During working hours it might not be such idyllic as the name is suggesting. No equipment for tea/coffee preparation in the room, which can be borrowed for a fee (or was it caution?) of 5€. Nevertheless, this tells more about our societies than the hotel ….

We payed 20ė to be by our friends. We were not put next to them. We thought we were paying for an upgrade instead we were in a room next to two other rooms. The bathroom shower had black mildew, quite a bit of it. At 11 pm there were people in the hallway making noise. We bore it and didn't complain thinking it would stop. Then we heard a stomping of feet above us. The noise finally did stop. What did we pay extra for? Noise and mildew.
