We loved this house! Spacious enough for our group of 9 people, excellent location - we walked from the house all over Gion area, to Nishiki market and nearby shops and restaurants. There are also a couple of temples with gardens right next to the house.

One of the bedrooms has a view straight at a cemetery - I thought it was cool but someone might not like it. So just be aware of it! Also the bedrooms can be locked inside but if no one is in the bedroom and you close the door with the lock in a locked position, it'll be locked and you can't open it!! That happened to us when our kids locked the bedroom and left it and my phone happened to be inside the bedroom. It was an adventure trying to get a hold of emergency contact number without a phone. But luckily they helped me out at the post office nearby and I was able to call the emergency number from there and they helped me to locate the keys to open the bedroom.

Great for families or groups, we were 6 people and we only needed 2 rooms. It has 2 separate toilets which makes things easier when there’s a big group

The dryer would not turn off. I sent a message through the Booking.com app for someone to come help. We had a driver coming to pick us up at 9 AM. No one was responding to my message. We ran across the street to the Hotel which manages this airBnB. To our disappointment, the door was locked. There was a sign which gave us three numbers to call in case of emergency. We called all 3 numbers. No answer. Only an answering machine. This was an emergency, and no one picks up. That is very disappointing and concerning. We were about to leave our clothes because we could not stop the dryer. Finally, my family member was able to successfully stop the machine. But it is very concerning that no one is available in case of emergency. The unit was lovely and spacious, particularly the kitche and the toilet rooms. The shower room had mold in the corners and on the ceiling; it did not feel clean.
