Enjoyed the quiet side of Elephantine Island and use of kayaks. Very friendly staff.

Our room looked nothing like the pictures and all the furniture, inside and out were very shabby. Although they said TV and kettle in room, neither existed, and bed did not have a top sheet! Shower drained terribly . Kayaks were not included, there was an extra charge which we weren't expecting.

I spent two nights at hooly nubian during a 12 day trip to Egypt, and really enjoyed the change of pace that Elephantine Island offered after the busyness of Cairo and being bombarded by person after person looking to squeeze some money out of me in Luxor. The facility is simple but clean and comfortable, and the setting along the Nile River is lovely. My second evening, I rented a kayak from hooly nubian to go out on the river around sunset, and that was one of the more peaceful moments I had during my time in Egypt. Would highly recommend that if the loud boat cruises aren't your thing. I had a room that opened onto a balcony of sorts overlooking the Nile, and that was a nice place to spend a little while after sunset in the cool of the evening. Ahmed responded quickly on Whatsapp and was helpful in arranging shared transportation to Abu Simbel, and the boat to take me back to the mainland on my departure day was on time. He also provided some other recommendations, which were appreciated. I thought hooly nubian was a pretty good value for the price and can recommend it for a stay of a few days. I wasn't sure how I would feel about needing to take a boat ride to get anywhere, but that ended up being only a pretty minor inconvenience and being in a beautiful and peaceful location was worth it.

Petit déjeuner très correct, équipe sympathique et réactive, situation idéale face au Nil avec une vue magnifique.

Confort très sommaire, lits trop durs, salles de bain pas très propres et assez mal agencées ( la douche donne directement sur le siège des toilettes).
