James was a wonderfully welcoming host, filled with local knowledge and helpful recommendations. The location was very convenient (just 5 mins drive to the town) but still felt very secluded. We were blown away by the beauty of the house which really is worth a visit. An added bonus was seeing the cats and hens roam around the gardens. Would highly recommend staying here!

Breakfast was lovely, with a great choice (more than I could get through!) and really great coffee. The owner was very welcoming, and I enjoyed a lovely chat with him over breakfast. The bed was very comfortable, the setting is beautiful, and the security gates meant I felt completely safe travelling alone.
Nothing really. Just be aware that the house is around 250 years old and keeps its old-fashioned character, so there are no TVs. That suited me perfectly, but it’s worth knowing if you’re expecting a hotel-style room.

James was so kind and thoughtful and the house was one of the premier country houses in Ireland if not Europe. I would highly recommend it, especially if you appreciate what you will experience by staying here.

Fabulous Georgian House in superb period garden, Lovingly restored and furnished by host. Big bedroom and bathroom, comfortable beds, quality linens etc. Delicious organic breakfast. Host very personable, extremely welcoming, helpful and accommodating, also knowledgable about places to visit etc. In many ways a perfect stay.
It pains me to say it because the service was so attentive on.every other way, but the standard of hygiene was appalling. It needs a professional.clean, top.to bottom, with particular attention to bathroom.and kitchen.
