This property was absolutely exceptional! How often do you get the chance to stay in a traditional Irish pub? Even better, this one has been beautifully renovated to provide a first-class experience, with comfortable beds, stylish décor, and every modern convenience while still retaining its charm. We were a group of 11, and there was more than enough space for everyone, with plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, and comfortable gathering areas. The location was perfect. It was just minutes from Portmagee, making our trip to Skellig Michael incredibly easy. I can’t recommend this property and its wonderful manager, Tom, highly enough. From the warm hospitality to the unique accommodations, this was truly a once-in-a-lifetime stay that we’ll never forget.

Spacious, clean and a great space to share

Tom has done a really sympathetic and tasteful restoration of the property. All of the rooms are wonderfully decorated and all the beds really comfy. The kitchen is very functional and well fitted out. The finishes across the property are fabulous and the bar area is just spectacular. The property is perfect for friends and family to gather and spend quality time together. The added bonus of having a fully kitted out functional bar was both a nice gimmick but also actually a perfect addition given that most bars in the town are quite small and there were 11 of us at one point. The fact that Tom can procure draft beer to use in the bar meant that we probably saved over €300 being our own pub over going to the local establishments, plus the fun factor it brings made it all the more special.

Everything at this property has been thoughtfully considered by Tom for guests enjoyment and comfort. We absolutely loved our stay here, the location is excellent - right on the main street, the beds and rooms are more comfortable than many 5 star hotels we have been to and the working bar was such an enjoyable feature for our group that we barely left the property all weekend. Tom is an amazing host, he is helpful and laid back and was responsive to any message we sent. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to have a fun low key weekend with friends.
