The decor of the hotel is exquisite old world. The staff are the highlight of the experience. They are unerringly polite and welcoming, efficient, accomodating and generous with their advice.

The staff were always lovely & made us feel that they cared.
The period charm of the place.
The spacious room.
Dinner at the restaurant.
No room service & no lunch at the restaurant.
The waiters uniforms weren’t always clean enough & the table in the foyer needed to be wiped regularly.

The location.
We are old people in the eighties. The hotel is not old people friendly - No lift access to the restaurant which is located at the first floor of the old heritage building - my wife could not walk up the high stairs for dinner and they could not bring the food down to the Library because they were busy with a function. Also the wheelchair lift to the lift lobby had broken down - hence we had to up up the steps to the lift lobby (these limitations are NOT clearly stated to potential customers)
