stayme THE HOTEL Ueno Ekimae

Amazing location, very near Ueno station Iriya exit, there are 3 konbini near (family mart, lawson and a 7eleven), nice room, kitchen with with a stove top, boiler, microwave, plates, cups, cutlery, you can also get some amenities at the front desk. There is a washing machine in the bathroom!! That made laundry much easier! Staff is very helpful, we left our baggage there before checkin.

Unfortunately the washing machine doesn't dry very well, so you have to hang your clothes around the room and there aren't many spaces to hang your laundry, you need to be creative. Also they don't have takkyubin (baggage delivery), but you can go to the family mart and 7eleven.

- the proximity to the station - almost every facility within room - view from the room - amazing people at the reception

- the on call service staff was not very helpful or responsive on the number. We mentioned we were coming with a small baby and wanted to keep our luggage at the hotel as we were reaching by 12 noon and were rudely denied and we found on coming to the property that luggage storage was indeed possible near the reception. The reception staff were super sweet but the calls don’t reach them and it goes to a central number that denies everything - we called to ask if we could check out an hour later and pay too but again rudely declined by the central call center- we understand policies however, even after explaining our situation found no empathy in the responses from the central call centre - the utensils pans especially were old and scratched and had burnt marks so I couldn’t use it for making food for baby

Great for families- comfy clean and easy to reach

The property is very close to Ueno station which was very handy. The apartment was clean and toiletries supplied. Apartment has washing machine, small kitchen and dining table. Convenient for catching Shinkansen and local trains. We would return for 1 night when needing to be close to station.

We stayed 1 night with 2 adults and 2 children before catching the Shinkansen but the space is too small to stay longer. I would recommend changing the sensor light in the kitchen and hallway to a regular light as it goes on soon as someone goes to the toilet and wakes everyone up.
