Capital Plaza Hotel

It is typical Romanian 4-stars hotels, large room, comfy beds, good quality toiletries. Also, fabulous breakfast: eggs, sausages but also vegetables, ham, cheese (of the best quality), juice and the right coffee. For staying on the terrace to smoke a cigarette, there was available a blanket. Price was fair, for less than that, one month ago, we paid almost double in Denmark. All in all, they took good care of us.

The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Piata Romana and Piata Victoriei (not the historical center of Bucharest). A big supermarket, as well as several restaurants and pastry shops can also be found close nearby. The room was very comfortable and quiet at night (on a higher floor facing a narrow street at the back of the hotel). Excellent breakfast with a lot of variety and good quality options; the freshly baked fruit tart every morning was a really nice touch. All the staff were professional and polite.

The safe in the room didn't work. After notifying the reception, a technician promptly came and tried to solve the problem, but in the end he couldn't do it. It was not a big issue for me personally, so I didn't want to change the otherwise very nice room only for this, but It would be better if the maintenance staff could check in advance for such problems.

Comfortable rooms with a/c, very clean, well isolated windows keep noise from main road away. Friendly staff at the desk.

The breakfast was not a good experience. In addition to being boring (apart from cheese few typical items) and serving nectar, the staff seems to have been instructed to have their breakfast in peace, bu aggressive wipping and taking dishes an cutlery away when you get another cup of coffee, while they are not as fast when it comes to removing problems with one of the only two coffee machines. Not in downtown, although at a walking disctance for me, at a noisy Boulevard (of which you hear nothing in the rooms). No restaurants open later in the area. Irrelevant for me but might be important for others: Almost only Romanian TV channels (except for French TV 5 an one in Hungarian).
