Brilliant location! Close to main transport hub at Deák Ferenc Tér and tons of food + drink places in the nightlife district within a few minutes walk. Definitely a lively and slightly rough area at night, as expected in any big city, but apartment building felt very secure with locked gates. Clear instructions on how to get into the property from host. Surprisingly not too loud at night as apartment is on 5th floor. Lift/elevator was in working order and we had a good sized balcony facing onto Rumbach Street. We stayed as a mum and daughter, so 2 bathrooms were a bonus! Bathrooms and kitchen were decently clean.

Whole apartment was in a state of disrepair and not as newly refurbished as advertised in photos. Lots of dirt scuffs on walls and chipped furniture, stains on sofa and rugs - cosmetic issues worth noting if you feel they might bother you. Several curtains in the larger bedroom were missing and those that remained were hanging off the curtain rails, so we had to use safety pins to secure them up. This let a lot of light in, waking us up early in the morning. Only 1 bath and 1 hand towel were provided for each person to last for 5 nights, although we did find 1 more towel hidden in a wardrobe on the last day of our stay. Only 1 pillow provided for each double bed so we had to use sofa cushions which weren't particularly clean. 2 spare pillows in wardrobes but no pillow cases to cover the stains on them. Basic kitchen essentials like cooking oil, utensils, cutlery, etc. that we usually find well stocked in budget accommodation, were lacking. This would be a perfect stay for anyone in town to party in the nearby nightlife district, but I wouldn't recommend it for families or older travellers looking for comfort and convenience.

Fantastic location, really good for a exploring Budapest

Sofa bed was a bit small for two people

The location was excellent, very central and convenient. However, the communication with the owner was not good. When we booked, we specifically read that there was an iron available, which was important for us since we were staying for 5 days, going out at night, and had dresses to wear. Unfortunately, there was no iron in the apartment. When we contacted the owner about it, he was quite rude and told me he had “no answer” to my question, which felt very dismissive. The beds are also very firm and the pillows extremely thin, so you end up sleeping almost completely flat. I even developed some neck pain because of this. Finding the apartment was also difficult at first, as it was not well signposted. Later, the owner did give us clearer instructions for the entrance. The area itself is a bit noisy at night & you can hear everything, and at times we even thought people were inside the apartment, which felt unsettling as three women traveling together. Other than these issues, the apartment itself was nice. But honestly, because of the communication with the owner, the noise, and the lack of comfort with the beds, if I returned to Budapest, I would probably choose another place to stay.
