Gîte d'étape Bastide Petra Castellana Verdon

I love it all! The setting, the views, it has such a great vibe. And Stephan is the perfect host

Nothing.

We stayed here for 4 nights during the busiest week of the year and loved it. Stephane is a wonderful host! When he arrived he was making homemade pizza - he makes his own sauce - and he has icy cold beer on tap! He brews a very nice cup of coffee, too. He is engaging when invited and also knows when to give you quiet moments. The property itself is beautifully renovated. It has everything: a bar, a living room, a professional kitchen, indoor dining table that seats about 10 people, outdoor lounging area, tables and ample chairs outside, horses, pétanque, a pond and stream. It is 5 minute drive to Castellane for market, restaurants and shopping and short drives to 2 big lakes for swimming and water sports. The linens were clean, crisp and smelled fresh.

The accommodation met our requirements

No staff were present and although this wasn't an issue did make the stay feel slightly strange. We also weren't aware that towels weren't provided.
