Wilpattu Mookalan Resort

Clean, comfortable, and a great value. My room had AC, a mini fridge, electric kettle for tea or coffee, hair dryer, and Wi-Fi—everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Meals were plentiful and satisfying. One particularly useful feature for anyone doing a safari is the location. The resort is very close to the Wilpattu park entrance, and they handled the early-morning logistics beautifully: they took the safari jeep to the park gate early, came back to pick me up, and then walked back with me to the jeep so we could be ready to enter as soon as the park opened. If you are paying at the hotel, bring cash—they do not accept cards.

Les hôtes sont extrêmement serviables. J’ai pris le safari avec eux, c’était incroyable on a eut la chance de voir un léopard. La chambre est confortable, avec climatisation, tout est très propre. À 5 minutes (à pied) de la chambre il y a un superbe lac où on peut voir des éléphants, crocodile, etc… La nourriture est excellente, Rice and curry très copieux et vraiment délicieux. J’ai adoré mon séjour.

We were right next to the main entrance to Wilpattu Park which meant we were first in the queue to get in, we saw an elephant within minutes of being in the park, we also saw a leopard and loads of other animals. We went on the night safari and saw a Loris and a Serpent Eagle and lots of other things too, it was an amazing experience. The food was fantastic and the owners were lovely. We had an excellent time here. The owner took some great photos and sent them to us as we only had our mobile phone cameras. Great service from start to finish.
