BoHo Hotel Budapest - Small Luxury Hotels

A super chic hotel in the university area, walking distance to the National Museum and lots of other must see Budapest places. The square outside the hotel is full of cafes and people having a good time so a great atmosphere but as soon as we walked into the hotel it was an oasis of calm and quiet. Lovely breakfast, helpful staff, huge room with thoughtful storage and massive bath.

Hotel is in super nice area, everything is close by. Ten out of ten breakfast. We got a free room upgrade which was super nice! Also room was big, clean and beautiful.

I came across this small boutique hotel while planning my recent birthday trip to Budapest. With so many excellent properties to choose from, I decided to give BoHo Hotel Budapest a try, despite its less-than-ideal location. Unfortunately, the stay proved rather disappointing. I made my reservation on 19 July 2025. Given the length of my 1-week stay and the occasion, I had hoped the management might assign me a pleasant room, perhaps one with a reasonably attractive outlook. Instead, I was given a Level 2 room next to a staircase with both windows facing directly onto a block wall. Drawing the curtains each morning to be greeted by a wall was hardly the most uplifting start to the day. The room consequently felt rather gloomy. I should add that I did appreciate the upgrade offered by the hotel. The upgraded room was genuinely beautiful, particularly the bathroom. Unfortunately, the positive impression created by the room was considerably undermined by the housekeeping and service issues that followed. From an ex-hotelier’s perspective, the more serious concern was the standard of housekeeping. The room was booked for single or double occupancy, yet it was supplied with only one face towel, one bath towel and one set of toiletries. I might have understood this had it been clearly presented as part of an environmental initiative. What was less understandable was that, once an item had been used, it was not replenished during subsequent housekeeping visits. On several occasions, I had to contact the front desk to request replacement toiletries and towels. On two occasions, I was told that housekeeping had already finished for the day and that I should come downstairs to collect the items myself. One front desk staff member even explained that she was working alone that evening. When I eventually went down, there were visibly two staff members at the desk, a small detail perhaps, but not one that inspired confidence.
