Decent location -taxis are affordable for a 15 minute drive to barrio alto or alfama, nice parks a few mins walk away, plenty of supermarkets in walking distance, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen were well-equipped and clean.

No warning of the 5 flights of stairs anywhere in the listing. As a solo male with 1 backpack it wasn't too bad but it's a lot of stairs when you get back from an hour walk in the heat. If you brought big heavy suitcases you would be stuck. Also, the access situation is bad. You must remember 3 different codes to get from the street to your bedroom, and your bedroom key is chained to a outside your bedroom door (I.e if you lose your phone and don't remember the codes you're also in a bad mess). You have to mess around with the codebox + key every time you leave your room for shower toilet etc. -also no mention of this anywhere in the listing.

The staff are friendly in communication and willing to resolve problems you face (but there is no one on site; all communication is online). The room was clean, and a few stars could be seen through the roof window at night. Not sure if this window can be opened. Outside the room, in the corridor, there is a nice sitting area next to the balcony, but it’s only for one person at a time. There is a coffee machine in the kitchen, as well as a microwave, fridges, and utensils. Even the washing machine is available, with two washing capsules provided in the room. Not far from the bus stop or metro station.

In the room, you need to be careful not to hit your head on the ceiling; it’s definitely not for tall people. No slippers (so after using the shower, you need to figure out how to get to your room without them). No tea. No coffee with milk for the coffee machine or milk separately. Two out of three shower doors don’t close fully. Other people don’t always clean the washrooms properly after themselves. You need three different codes to enter the property and your room, push a very heavy door at the entrance on the ground floor, and climb five floors by stairs. The area isn’t very pleasant for tourists, but you can find some shops around and transport nearby to get to your destination.
