Beautiful property with the most wonderful, kind owners. Location is great. Close to the subway, 7/11 about 10 meters away, down some quiet pretty streets but a 5 minute walk to the main area of Kyoto. The matcha ceremony was great!
Like a lot of hotels in Japan, the rooms are small. For us, this wasn’t a problem at all. Especially as everything is thoughtfully designed and placed.

We spent three nights at Saju and loved it. Saju Kyoto is situated near many excellent restaurants (e.g., Nakashimaya and Breakfast Udon Express) and the Nishiki Market. Their tatami rooms are comfortable, clean, and efficient. Most importantly, the Saju staff is super helpful—getting reservations, giving directions—and personable. We highly recommend!

Very nice traditional room. Good location and the nicest staff
The bathroom is super tiny and you need to use the stairs to bring your luggage up and down, even though the staff helps you with them too.

The location is good. The place seems new and looks very nice. The hosts are very pleasant.
The room smelled of cooked food. After a short time we would become accustomed to it but each time we entered it was overwhelming.
