Magnifique ensemble dans une ancienne abbaye et collège pour garçon. La piscine dans ce qui devait être un ancien transept de l’église avec hamam et sauna. Club avec salle de billard, restaurant et parc. Cottages dans le parc avec cuisine salon, absolument tout ce dont vous avez besoin.

Le matelas de la grande chambre était un peu fatigué. Dommage car sinon vraiment tout était parfait.

Well equipped

No dressing gowns or slippers so if you went to the pool you had to return with a towel wrapped around you. I had to ask for pool towels From management. Heating and water went off and couldn’t reset the boiler due to cupboard being locked. Information book had a lot of incorrect information in it so we followed incorrect instructions on how to boost hot water and wasted an entire morning waiting for it to heat up! One of our party had to go off without showering due to no hot water

Stunning location, ample parking and well equipped cottage

Property was a bit tired, carpets scruffy and twin bedroom beds narrow, without headboards and curtains and decor tired. We were two couples sharing and whilst the sofa was comfortable, the armchairs were quite the opposite. House had very poor noise insulation, and there were a no. of minor but irritating maintenance issues such as doors not closing properly, poor temperature control of taps in bathrooms, broken tiles in hearth and issues with opening and closing windows and sliding doors. Furniture in the lounge was cheap and outdated . It didn’t feel like a’luxury’ stay to us

Its location in Fort Augustus, ideally located to walk to all the attractions , shops and pubs etc

Hard bed, I know everyone likes different levels of comfort , but this would have been ok if recovering from a bad back maybe. We couldn’t really use the seating outside our cottage as we expected to do, we anticipated enjoying the beautiful grounds and surrounding whilst having a glass of wine or two, but the area infront of our cottage resembled a motorway service station with all the commercial vehicles. There was work being undertaken at the main building so we had 3 Ford Rangers and a Citroen bellingo parked outside, the 2 occupants of the Citroen spent most of the evening wandering about on mobile phones until 10pm Not what you wished for when I had taken my wife away for a birthday surprise. And the interior was furnished to a good standard, just a shame no one got round to finish grouting the tiles in the kitchen area or fixing the socket correctly.
