Boetiekhotel op de Platz

This hotel was the last stop of a three week tour of Europe. The room was lovely with both a shower and bath. The hotel is located in a nice area with residential houses nearby and a lovely town about two miles away.

The check-in process was confusing. We arrived at the hotel to then find we had to walk a few minutes to the actual restaurant in the castle grounds. There was no actual check-in desk so had to wait about ten minutes for a member of staff to come to us. This was quite frustrating as we had ridden over five hours in hot weather and did not want to wait around in heavy motorcycle gear. The first day's buffet breakfast was OK but on the second day we were not allowed to have the buffet but were given a pre-prepared platter of food. However, we were never asked if we were vegetarian hence half of it contained meat so, it was wasted as we couldn't eat it. There also was not as much choice of fruit as there was at the buffet.

Nice, friendly environment in a renovated church villa. The next door castle is attractive and has a restaurant.

My single room felt very claustrophobic due to the bed position and had no writing desk which is very necessary as a business traveler. The washing basin in the bathroom is a joke of about 35 x 20 cm! Cleaning and towel changing was not up to standard, skipping days of even basic cleaning or making the bed. But I was very happy with the airco however that worked only 50 % of the time due to *overload* as I was told! No, for this price there are better choices available.
