Hotel Belvoir Springfield

Overall an excellent stay. Good breakfast buffet, clean facility and excellent housekeeping. The facility is undergoing updates and improvements and is a quality place to stay. The staff was friendly, welcoming, hospitable and professional with one notable exception -- a front desk receptionist, who was cold, rude, unfriendly and generally curt. She made me feel unwelcome and agitated -- while all other staff and hotel guests were polite and friendly. I would give this feedback directly to the hotel, to Hilton, but they have yet to solicit my opinion.

Pool was closed, had to ask to find out. 2 out of 3 staff unfriendly and not helpful, one was helpful but not friendly. Clean but older hotel, rust, no microwave, 2 of 3 elevators out of order. Good onsite parking options, great location to Metro

I wanted to give 5 stars because all of the really important things were perfect. My only knocks were no microwave in the room (have to use the one in lobby), and only one box of Kleenex in the bathroom instead of a second in the main room. It should also be mentioned that of the three elevators for 12 floors, only 1 or 2 of 3 elevators were operational most of my 4-day stay. When there were two operating, there was still a bit of a wait for a ride. But this had a silver lining. In thinking about it now, the elevator wait and cramming as many strangers you could in one small elevator car facilitated talking to other guests. I think we need to use these situations to reduce divisions and erase racial lines between us. What really got me off to a good start while checking in, the young gentleman- I think his name was Kareem. He acted like he couldn’t find my reservation and when I asked him if he found it, with a straight he face said, “You don’t have a reservation!” Imagine the feeling of panic. It’s a holiday weekend. A second later, he cracked a smile and said, “Just kidding!”. It was great. I never had that happen before. It was kind of like being on a Southwest Airlines flight where the flight attendants bust your chops and make the experience fun.

Enjoyed my one night at this Springfield, VA location. Room, service and breakfast were all perfect. Would highly recommend for a nice, fairly priced Hilton property.
