The staff was very welcoming and helpful. I felt "at home" immediately. While the amenities are not luxurious, they were very clean and what I needed for accommodation overnight on my travel. Had my return trip been on the same route I would have opted to stay there again. The room rate was very reasonable, it was easy access from the expressway, and there was plenty of options nearby for take-out supper (traveling with my dog so I didn't go in anywhere).
As an aside, if you're traveling with a dog, there's a very nice little dog park located in a city park in the old town section of Staunton that is very close by the hotel and easy to get to. I highly recommend it, especially for a small dog like mine. Shady location, friendly folks and well-mannered dogs. I had to drive around a bit in the parking lot to spot the dog park, but it was worth looking for. I'm glad I searched it out. Since this hotel welcomes pets, I recommend you have the info for the dog park available at the front desk in case someone asks.

it is a better than average roadside inn. I have stayed there several times in the past 3 years and it's been better each time. I will stay there again in September.

Room was clean, and bed comfortable. Night staff was great, morning staff ok. Didn't have time for breakfast but it looked good.
