8 / 10Excellent·juin 2026
Good location near city center and all with walking distance of main attractions, restaurants and shops. Hotel offers limited but expensive on-site parking. We had a superior double room which was a good size, clean and functional with most things you needed. Areas for improvement include the noise from live bands and DJ’s at wedding parties in the hotel both nights of our stay although generally quite after 11pm. Internet in room was poor - very slow to connect and access speed was so poor it wasn’t worth trying. Breakfast service was ok - nothing special

The Gonville is well located for Cambridge. Staff are very friendly. Reuben on the front desk in particular. Rooms are spacious and well appointed. Breakfast is a very good selection with many chef cooked options available.
Furniture in the communal areas is tired, worn, and needs replacing but in general this is a very comfortable hotel.

Fantastic hotel. Great location, food and drink were top quality - poached eggs cooked to order were a highlight. Staff all very pleasant and helpful - booked for a birthday and we were given a lovely room and some fizz - many thanks, recommended and will return.
