Excellent service, nice location, and the food was amazing! We are from Albany CA and my wife and I were blown away with our dinner and breakfast! Everyone there was fantastic!

We stayed at Carter house in their top of the line rooms (large suites) for four nights. Two rooms. The pictures on the website looked wonderful. However what we found was significantly less than published. The furnishings were quite tired both in the lobby and in both rooms Also the common area carpet was dirty and the lobby furniture was extremely worn. We asked for our rooms to be cleaned and refreshed twice while there. Only once they changed the towels. Bathroom light was burned out. Bed was made but left everything on tables and desk scattered and didn't refill things like the coffee.
With that said the reception staff, restaurant staff and bar staff were terrific. Worked very hard to please. Restaurant food was terrific. Both breakfast and dinner we outstanding!!
I really wanted to like the place as it looked very charming. It just needs a good refresh.

So wonderful to stay in a hotel with a high level of service. Recommend the restaurant- free breakfast was exceptional, good variety and quality. Enjoyed a great dinner after happy hour with the friendly bartender.
