Hotel is excellent, our room was well cared for and very comfortable, it had everything we needed. Location was superb, walking distance to all the main visitor stops and shopping and cafes restaurants too. Staff are wonderful, knowledgeable, helpful and polite without being intrusive. Highly recommended.

Ideal for us right on the racecourse.worth paying the extra for racecourse view.

This has got to be one of the friendliest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The hotel staff were so lovely and helpful; they always greeted you with a smile and made you feel so welcome. The hotel is ideally placed to visit York with a pleasant 5-10 minute walk from the main sights and river. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast delicious. I’d highly recommend this to anyone visiting York and would definitely stay again.

Entirely satisfactory three-star with the exception of the automatic mirror light in the bathroom which turned itself on and off randomly making it necessary for me to completely shut down the lighting (remove the key card) at night.
