Il Castagnolo was the perfect quick Tuscan stay for our family. The accommodations are pleasant and comfortable. The pool is cold and overlooks the beautiful countryside, and it’s a very quick ride into San Gimignano town as well as surrounding Tuscan vineyards.

Stayed in the room with bunk beds (Torre Ardinghelli)- Had the squeakiest door ever. Also the bathroom door got stuck on the floor every time it opened and shut. The bunk beds were this squeaky metal thing that probably should only be used by under 10 year olds. Think creaky old camp bunks.
Out of soap/shampoo in the shower when we checked in and it took about 25 min to find more. Charge for water (of course) and seemingly no where to fill water bottles in a free way. Strange 2nd level “kitchen” that had signs it was not to use.
Good breakfast. Decent pool (only shaded at end of afternoon). There during a massive heat wave so we appreciated the AC unit. It worked very well.
