The general property and grounds are exceptional. My room was in a small building that felt like a nice dormitory, quite basic but a good value and clean. My bed was comfortable. The bathroom was small but fairly new. It had large windows that allowed plenty of fresh air and light. The neighborhood is upscale. The US embassy and Museum of Literature are very short distance. It is only a 20 minute walk to the castle, but there is no tourist frenzy as you find near the river. The breakfast buffet couldn't be better.

I was welcomed warmly and the gentleman even carried my bag up the 30+ stairs. That lets you know how high the ceilings are. The room was lovely and everywhere you go in Vila Lanna, there is artwork, be it paintings, pictures, carvings, etc.
It feels totally decadent to eat a very nice breakfast in such a beautifully artistic dining room.
